Los proyectos presentados son:
Rotaract Verde -Green Rotaract
Rotary has a history of helping the environment and that is why "Rotaract Verde" will be a bigger presence in our clubs as a way to help identify us in the struggle for the environment.
The project consists of student campaigns for plastic recycling, forums on professional development, Adoptions of turtles, visits to beaches and manufacture of handicrafts using recycled plastic that will help to improve the quality of life of women heads-of-households
in coastal and indigenous towns.
Lunch Boxes for Chira, united by the education of our town
The Club Rotaract San Jose is coordinating the logistics to take school supplies, uniforms, lunch boxes, etc. to three schools: the Bocana School, Isla Chira School and to the Montero & Palito School, as well as to the High School on the Island of Chira. However, the needs of these schools is even greater. They lack libraries (furnishings and books), in addition to multimedia equipment and computers that limit the student's growth and learning in technological areas.
UCR-Rotaract aqueduct
In the communities of Alto Conte, El Progreso y Las Vegas del Río La Vaca, the University of Costa Rica has been working with these towns for several years to develop projects. In the rainy season in these villages, water is abundant but in summer there is very little. The poor handling of this resource and lack of good administration for the system causes non-potable water consumption which produces several common diseases like diarrhea, stomach ailments, skin problems etc.
The project plans to select the best among the water sources already located, to protect them and rationally use them. This will be done by the construction of the necessary infrastructure (tanks and pipes) to supply potable water to every home and institution in of these
communities. The Rotaract Club of San Jose has made the decision to give the support necessary to carry out this project.
Open doors for all children
General objective: Reduce the Social & educational gap between Costa Rican children in foster homes and children with complete families by providing language lessons. The project consists on finding 50 children in foster homes interested on learning a second language. Children will attend regular lessons at a second language institute relating with children from all social classes. This will no only provide them with a tool for a future professional life but also they will relate with children outside their reality, having the possibility of making new friends and staying away form problems in the future.
The Indigenous Voice:
